Evelyn Tucker

           We'd like some basic information on you to introduce you to our congregation. You may be as brief or as detailed as you like. We may need to edit longer responses. Please write a paragraph answering some of the following questions:

 (1) Where were you born/raised? What about your family?

I was born & raised in Los Angeles and have lived here all my life.  I have been a widow since 1955. 

I have one living child and another who died in his 30's from a heart ailment.  My daughter lives close by.  She has a daughter and son.  I have four grandchildren.  I see them frequently.  I have a special needs great-granddaughter who lives with my daughter.

 (2) How long have you been in Whittier? Why did you come to Whittier?

I've lived in Whittier since 1949 when my family all purchased property together.  We bought a small orange grove and widened the street in the middle of it al all built houses, where I continue to live to this day.  Originally the whole street was my family, but now only my daughter and I still live there.  It was a nice way to live.

 (3) What particular hobbies/interests do you have? Please add any other information that you think would be pertinent.

I like gardening and volunteering at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital.  I am 83 years old and am somewhat limited in what I can do.
