 1.  Contrast the treatment that Roux gets from Vianne with that which comes from Serge and the rest of the town.

 2.  How would you describe the relationship between the mayor and the priest?

 3.  Is the chocolate shop a work of the devil?  What evil do you see that the priest seems to miss?  What evil in our world passes for good?

 4.  What does Anouk really feel about her life?  How do we help children cope with being different for their/our beliefs?  Are our kids that different than the children of non-believers? 

 5.  Who is chosen to be invited to the party and why do you think so?

 6.  Why do you believe the party moves to the boat to finish?

 7.  What similarities do you see between Vianne and Caroline?  What particular burdens do you think single mothers carry?
