COMPANIONS ON THE INNER WAY

Christa's Poem
I
don't know if you guys experienced this, but all of us at First Pres, San
Bernardino had such a difficult re-entry after Companions, I thought that we
needed a perk-me-up! So I sent this
to all of my San Bernardino Companions. I wrote this poem while still there at beautiful Mater
Dolorosa. Reading it has helped me since I've been back.
Like the Holy
Spirit
descending as a
dove,
with God’s
grace.
Like Jesus
kissing
the leper
clean,
Companions
cleanses me
of worldly
impurities.
Like Mary
calmly accepting
God’s radical
plan,
Companions
centers
my faith and
prayers.
Like Christ
overturning
the
moneychangers wares,
Companions
challenges me
into action and
reaction.
Like God’s
gentle mother-love
and
father-wisdom,
Companions
nurtures
my whole child
self.
Like the
all-encompassing
power of our
Creator,
Companions
enlivens
surrounds
permeates
surprises
astounds
gentles
and
nourishes
My soul
My self
My heart
My head
My all.
